

I would keep in mind that only lords get access to the support tree while you can usually get every other besides unique mounts / top stand alone talents on an embedded hero.Even for a Black Orc, Grimgor's thirst for war was exceptional. There's also a buffing support tree as well. You get the same stylistic choice with VC you can spec manfred to be a beast in a melee or to be a untouchable dragon riding buffing death mage with "Good from high angle" single target spells for lords. If you want to focus on using cav and unit positioning I would go middle tree with lightning strike. If you want to micro-manage him give him a mount and melee spec him. I haven't been able to tell how effective mount/no mount is but I have seen one on ones and the mounted guy usually wins if they pull back and charge. You can give him a mount to chase down enemy lords and spec him heavy melee. If you plan on running a hero duelist you can problem spec him middle buffs with lightning strike to prevent reinforcements. Think we missed one?
